A series of fires set on Interstate 8 in the East County were put out early Friday evening and officials said they believe the flames were deliberately set, 10News reported.
The fires along westbound I-8 between Tavern Road and Dunbar Lane slowed traffic around 5:50 p.m.
Firefighters responded quickly and put out the flames that were sparked in dry brush and low humidity.
Investigators did not comment on possible leads or suspects.
