A small plane crashed into a house in Marstons Mills, Mass., Saturday morning.
Marstons Mills' fire chief John Farrington said an off-duty fireman out walking his dog saw the Cessna 152 drop below the tree line and heard it crash into the roof of 356 Race Lane shortly after 11 a.m.
The home's residents were outside in the back yard at the time of the accident.
The pilot, Alessandro Mendonca, was the only person in the four-seat plane and was speaking when firefighters took him out of the wreckage.
The plane was owned by Sky Dive Cape Cod. The pilot had dropped three parachutists, but the plane developed engine trouble on the way back to Cape Cod Airport, about a mile away from the house.
Witnesses said crews had to cut the plane's door off to rescue Mendonca. He was rushed to Cape Cod hospital.
No one on the ground was injured.
