Texas Firefighter Allegedly Used City Equipment To Fill Pool

Investigators are looking into whether the off-duty firefighter used a city fire hydrant and firehose for his own personal use.

An El Paso firefighter is under investigation for allegedly using city equipment fo fill up a swimming pool. Investigators are looking into whether the firefighter used a city fire hydrant and firehose for his own personal use, while he was off duty.

Fire officials confirm the firefighter being investigated works out of Station 29 in East El Paso.

"The department does not accept or condone any illegal behavior by any of its members," said Lt. Mario Hernandez, investigator with the El Paso Fire Department.

El Paso police have not released the employee's name because no formal charges have been filed, but they say the charges could be criminal.

"We did recieve allegations against this employee of the fire department. Anytime that there is allegations against any city employee misusing any type of city property, there has to be an investigation," said Javier Sambrano, spokesperson with the El Paso Police Department.
