Mystery Surrounds Burning Florida Van

State troopers were investigating a mysterious crash on Lake Underhill Road, Tuesday morning. Investigators said a Dodge minivan flipped several times and burst into flames, but when rescue crews arrived on the scene they couldn't find anyone there.

Investigators said the van was headed eastbound on Lake Underhill Road when the driver lost control. The van rolled several times. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they said there was a little bit of smoke, but then the engine compartment ignited.

Rescue crews were very concerned, because they found two baby seats inside the van, but no babies or passengers. They used a thermal imaging camera to see if the driver or any passengers had been thrown from the van.

"It detects body heat and I just used it tonight to look around the perimeter to search for anyone who may have been ejected or thrown from the vehicle," said Keith Watts of the Orange County Fire Rescue. "Sometimes, because of the speeds of the vehicles, people can be ejected far off into the woods."

It is unclear exactly how fast the vehicle was traveling. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating and, according to them, the van has not been reported stolen. Investigators are trying to track down the owner of the vehicle.
