Authorities said a house fire in Annapolis killed an elderly man and woman.

The two-alarm fire was reported about 11 p.m. Thursday at a single-family home in the 200 block of Halsey Road in the city's Admiral Heights neighborhood.

The man, in his 80s, was found on the second floor, officials said.

The woman was found in the front yard and was sent to the Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore for treatment of severe burns, where she later died.

Firefighters needed 90 minutes to control the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
