Louisiana Worker Killed in House Collapse

One person is dead after a home in Kenner, Louisiana, fell off its jacks Sunday afternoon.

Seven people were trying to raise the home along the 400 block of East Louisiana State Drive when the weight shifted sometime between 1 and 2 p.m.

Six workers managed to free themselves, including one who later lost consciousness. He's hospitalized in critical condition.

Rescuers cut piling to get to another worker, Alejandro Gonzales, who later died at a hospital.

Police said the house stayed largely in one piece with its roof and walls intact.
