Houston Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Business Blaze

A business in northeast Houston went up in flames Thursday morning.

A business in northeast Houston went up in flames Thursday morning, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston firefighters responded to the three-alarm inferno at McCauley Lumber Company on Aldine Bender Road near Henry Road at about 6 a.m.

Flames engulfed the building and thick black smoke filled the air. Officials said the smoke was not toxic.

Fire officials said the building contained several chemicals that helped fuel the fire. There is also a substantial amount of lumber inside and outside the building.

Crews closed surrounding streets to battle the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
