Louisville firefighters turned down Metro Government's latest contract offer.
A union official said 90 percent of those voting over the weekend rejected the deal, WLKY NewsChannel 32 reported. One of the major concerns is health insurance.
There's also no pay hike in the first year of the four-year proposal.
A spokesman for Mayor Jerry Abramson said city officials thought the union leadership would be able to persuade members to accept the latest offer.
Firefighters have been working under a contract extension since last July.
