April 11, 2006
DNR said recent rainfall and projected wildfire conditions have changed the setting.

Authorities have lifted the statewide burning ban in seven counties on Monday.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources said the counties include Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince Georges counties and Baltimore City.

The DNR enacted the ban, which included charcoal grilling, on March 31, but said recent rainfall and projected wildfire conditions have changed the setting.

The ban remains in effect in Allegany, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, Kent, Queen Anne, St Marys, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester counties.
