Two Giles County children are at home and safe, after their disappearance sparked a search involving more than 500 people Wednesday evening.

It all began late Wednesday afternoon in the Fall River community southwest of Pulaski. Officials say 6-year-old Tela and 6-year-old Joseph Hart got lost while on their way to a friend's house. They had been missing for several hours until firefighter Matt Warren found them in the woods.

"We waded through the briars through the creeks and kept hollering until we heard her holler back and we just took off running and they were in the edge of the creek following the creek. Only thing they wanted to know was if we knew who their mother was. I said 'Yeah, we're going to take you to her,'" said Warren.

Paramedics checked the children out on the scene and they are both said to be doing well.
