California Firefighter Injured in Crash

Firefighters saw the vehicle coming towards their truck; the driver of the fire truck tried to swerve but was not able to get clear. The result -- a huge crash and a dangerous fire right at the intersection of American and temperance.

One firefighter walked away unharmed, but a second firefighter was hurt and transported to University Medical Center after the crash.

Two men who lived nearby heard the collision and ran to help.

It was neighbors who also caught the driver of the other car as he was apparently fleeing the scene. They detained him until officers arrived.
