Arson Suspected In South Dakota Highway Fires

BRANDON, S.D. (AP) -- Investigators think 22 grass fires along an eight-mile stretch of Interstate 90 in eastern South Dakota might have been intentionally set.

Firefighters from Brandon, Valley Springs and Renner responded about noon Tuesday to fires burning along the eastbound lane between the EROS Data Center and Valley Springs exits.

They were able to put them out before they caused any damage. No one was injured.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the case to report it.
