In 1999, an old firehouse in Canton was scheduled for demolition, and replacing it was a parking lot.
But that decision was later overturned by the Village, and the building went out for bid.
The Village received five bids, ranging from the highest - $55,000 - to the lowest - $20,000. In an uncommon move, Canton went with the lowest bidder.
