Hudson, N.H.--The Fire Department is investigating a suspicious brush fire that occurred yesterday evening at 6:30.

The fire occurred in an unoccupied clearing across from 11 Groves Farm Road, consuming an area of brush about 20 by 30 feet, along with a four-door compact car.

Although the fire was quickly extinguished, if it had burned during a time of year when the woods are dry, the damage to the woodlands could have been significant, Fire Prevention Officer Steve Dube said.

Anyone with information regarding any suspicious activity in the area of Groves Farm Road around 5:30 or 6 p.m., is asked to call Dube at (603) 886-6011, ext. 231.
