CHICAGO (AP) -- Firefighters evacuated three floors in a high-rise tower housing the Chicago Stock Exchange Friday after fire broke out in a 22nd-floor computer room.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was in the One Financial Place building, a 39-story tower in the city's financial district. The structure houses the stock exchange and is just south of the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Trading continued uninterrupted on the stock exchange and the options exchange, according to spokesmen for both exchanges.
Fire Chief Dennis Gault said the fire broke out shortly after 11 a.m. in a computer room in an area rented by Prudential Securities.
Firefighters broke windows on the 22nd floor for ventilation and evacuated the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th floors, and quickly got the fire under control, Gault said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
