MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- Two children died Sunday afternoon in an apartment fire.

Maj. David Richardson said firefighters were called to 449 Harr Drive shortly before noon. He said smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived.

A 2-year-old boy was pulled from an apartment and pronounced dead at the scene, Richardson said.

He said firefighters also found a 26-year-old woman and 4-year-old boy unresponsive in the unit.

They were taken to the hospital, where the woman was brought back to life.

Richardson said the toddler was pronounced dead.

About eight units were damaged by the fire and a few neighbors were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, Richardson said.

Names of the victims have not been released, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
