March 23--A dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) said a fire truck from Vernon Township Fire Department overturned Saturday afternoon, injuring two firefighters.
"I think the subject went a little bit off the brum and it flipped the truck," said Cathy Davis, a OSHP dispatcher with the Portsmouth Post. She said there two people injured in the incident.
"One was my brother (identified as Paul Davis). They flew him (Davis) to St. Mary's Medical Center (in Huntington, W.Va.), for non-life threatening injuries. Another (unidentified) firefighter was injured and was going to be treated locally," Davis described.
Davis said the incident occurred on Turkey Foot Road about 4 p.m. and the injured firefighters were responding to a brush fire.
