Bacon, Mac & Cheese Chips Could Mean Lots of Dough for Ohio Firefighter

July 24--A combination of bacon, mac and cheese and potato chips might lead a Dayton firefighter to a $1 million pot of gold.
Matt Allen of Troy -- one of Dayton's newest firefighters -- is a contestant in Lay's "Do Us A Flavor"contest.
His Lay's Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese chips are battling it out against chip flavors submitted by three other finalists from around the nation: Lay's Cappuccino, Lay's Kettle Cooked Wasabi Ginger and Lay's Wavy Mango Salsa.
Lay's received about 14 million submissions in this year's contest.
People will be invited to vote for their favorite of the four flavors beginning July 28 through Oct. 18 at www.DoUsAFlavor.com.
They can also vote via Instagram and/or Vine using the hashtags #SaveBaconMac, #SaveCappuccino, #SaveWasabi, #SaveMango. Text message "Bacon Mac," "Cappuccino," "Wasabi" or "Mango" to 24477 (CHIPS) to vote.
Only one vote per day per website or social media method.
Troy Mayor Michael L. Beamish will proclaim Thursday, July 31, "Lay's Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese Potato Chip Day" in Troy during a ceremony that day on Troy's Public Square
The event is open to the public.
The grand prize is $1 million. Runners up will receive $50,000.
