Three Okla. Firefighters Hurt in Wreck with Two Brush Trucks

Two Twin City Fire Department brush trucks were involved in a wreck while returning from a grass fire this week, putting both out of commission right during red flag warning season. Three firefighters are also recovering from injuries from the wreck.
According to local television station KFOR News Channel 4, three of the community’s eight volunteer firefighters are recovering from injuries sustained in the wreck.
Twin City Firefighter Todd Pack, who suffered a head wound that required eight staples to close, told the TV station that he and his crew were heading back from a call near Binger we they collided with another truck. The station did not say if the other truck was the second brush truck damaged in the wreck. Officials have revealed no details of the wreck, claiming the incident is under investigation, the TV station reported.
Fire officials told the TV station the combined value of the trucks is about $150,000, but they don’t expect the insurance company to fully cover the loss. It could be weeks before the department is back in service.
