A battalion chief with the Croydon Fire Company crashed his SUV in front of the fire station while responding to a call and suffered minor injuries. No one was transported to the hospital.

According to 6ABC, the vehicle apparently swerved to avoid cars stopped to let the fire trucks out of the station and slammed into a utility pole, snapping it, sending wires to the ground. The live wires sparked a fire in the road way, the television station reported.

The incident took utility workers hours to repair the line, the station reported.

Authorities haven’t said how fast the SUV was going or who was at fault, the television station said.
