Redmond, WA -- Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communication systems for public safety, transportation and utilities, is donating $5,127 to benefit the families of 19 firefighters who lost their lives June 30, 2013 battling the Yarnell Hill Fire 30 miles south of Prescott, Arizona.
The contribution includes donations from Zetron employees and matching funds from the company and Zetron president and CEO, Ellen O’Hara.
The firefighters were members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite firefighting crew with the Prescott Fire Department. The City of Prescott is a Zetron customer.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the firefighters whose lives were lost in the Yarnell Hill Fire,” said O’Hara. “A tragedy like this is a difficult reminder of the dangers firefighters face every day to keep us safe. But it also reminds us of how such an event reverberates beyond local boundaries and connects us all. We sincerely hope that our contribution can, in some way, help the firefighters’ families in their efforts to heal from this profound loss.”
