Ocala PIO Stoothoff to Retire, Replacement Named

The staff of Ocala Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley Lopez as Public Information Officer, effective May 19, 2014.

Ocala Assistant Chief Bryan Stoothoff welcomes Ashley Lopez who is assuming responsibilities as the departments public information officer.

(OCALA, Fla.) – The staff of Ocala Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley Lopez as Public Information Officer, effective May 19, 2014.

Lopez comes to the agency with knowledge of operations within the City. For the past three years she has worked at the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department focusing on advertising, marketing, and special event planning.

In her new position, Lopez will oversee the fire department’s communication efforts including media relations, public education and community outreach.

Lopez will be assuming some of the responsibilities of Assistant Chief Brian Stoothoff, who after 32 years of dedicated service, will be retiring at the end of May.
