The University of Kentucky honored Louisville firefighter Bryce Carden for his heroic rescue of a driver trapped in a cab dangling from a bridge last week.
Carden, and his wife, Caitlynn, were invited to watch the Wildcats take on Vanderbilt Wednesday night by coach John Calipari, the Courier-Journal reports.
The firefighter stood with the players during the National Anthem and then was honored by all those in attendance at Rupp Arena before tipoff.
Carden was lowered from a ladder truck after a multi-vehicle crash left an 18-wheeler dangling from Clark Memorial Bridge. The driver was trapped with no way to escape until Carden showed up.
"She was praying a lot, and I prayed with her,' Carden recalled.
