Application Period for 2021 AFG Program Extended

Dec. 16, 2021
FEMA extended the application period for the 2021 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program due to interface issues on the website.

In response to interface issues with the website used for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, FEMA has extended the application period for the  Fiscal Year 2021 grant program.

FEMA reported that some users had interface issues related to SAM.gov and the FEMA Go System, including  error messages indicating that their organizations were not found or their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) combination did not exist despite active SAM.gov accounts.

General Services Administration and FEMA have extended the  2021 AFG Program application period and it will remain open until 5:00 p.m. ET on Jan. 21, 2022.

The deadline extension is automatically granted to all applicants, FEMA shared Thursday.

FEMA continues to encourage applicants to review the FY 2021 AFG Program Notice of Funding Opportunity and the associated tools posted on the FEMA website.
