Cheryl started in the fire service in 1992 and has served as a firefighter, company officer, instructor, union president, and now serves as a chief officer.
Chief Horvath chronicles some of the challenges she has faced in this male-dominated profession and how she not only overcame those challenges, but had thrived and contributed to the betterment of the fire service through her involvement in a variety of organizations. She currently serves as president of the International Association of Women in Fire and Emergency Service (iWomen).
