In this episode of The Leader's Toolbox host Fire Chief Rich Gasaway speaks with Cheryl Horvath, division chief of operations for the Northwest Fire District in Tucson, AZ. Cheryl started in the fire service in 1992 and has served as a firefighter, company officer, instructor, union president, and now serves as a chief officer.

Chief Horvath chronicles some of the challenges she has faced in this male-dominated profession and how she not only overcame those challenges, but had thrived and contributed to the betterment of the fire service through her involvement in a variety of organizations. She currently serves as president of the International Association of Women in Fire and Emergency Service (iWomen).
