Spartan Motors Presents 2017 Emergency Vehicle Technician of the Year Award at Symposium
CHARLOTTE, Mich., January 24, 2018 – Spartan Emergency Response (“Spartan” or “Spartan ER”), a business unit of Spartan Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAR) (“Spartan” or the “Company”), has awarded the 2017 Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) of the Year award, presented by Firehouse, to Corey Lane of the Loveland, Colorado, Public Works Department. Lane was honored at the 30th Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA) Apparatus Symposium awards breakfast, held in Scottsdale, Arizona, earlier this month.
Lane has served the Loveland Public Works Department for the past 22 years and is responsible for the maintenance, inspection process, and repairs for the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority’s (LFRA) large fleet of 66 heavy-duty vehicles, including 23 fire apparatus vehicles. In addition to being on call for 24-hour repairs, Lane is also responsible for the vehicle training duties for every firefighter and engineer in the LFRA department and their neighboring community fire department.
“EVTs are the true unsung heroes of our industry,” said Brian Connely, National Sales Manager for Spartan Motors’ Emergency Response business unit. “Preparing, maintaining and servicing emergency vehicles to be ready at a moment’s notice, is the cornerstone of a department’s ability to serve its communities. Throughout the course of Corey’s 22-year career, he has demonstrated superior expertise and diligence in helping ensure the safety of firefighters and first responders through his work as an EVT, which makes Spartan Motors honored to recognize him.
The FDSOA’s annual Apparatus Symposium is dedicated to providing a better understanding of fire apparatus and ambulances to the emergency services industry. The annual conference takes place in January in partnership with Firehouse. For more information, visit www.fdsoa.org.
