San Antonio's fire chief has earned a national honor for 2020.
Chief Charles Hood was named Fire Chief of the Year by the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association, KENS-TV reports. He will be honored in a ceremony Tuesday at the city's Public Safety Headquarters.
The chiefs association had originally planned to present Hood with the award during an April event in Washington, D.C. But the COVID-19 pandemic forced the organization to cancel the presentation and its annual conference for the first time in its 55-year history, KENS added.
