Robert Maniet has been a volunteer firefighter in Howe for more than a decade.
In 2012, he became the volunteer fire chief.
Last week, his title changed -- just a tad. He's now Fire Chief Maniet.
He is the first full-time paid fire chief.
Howe officials said he's well-respected by the firefighters who admire him for his leadership, KXII reported.
The department started featuring its members on its Facebook page earlier this month.. And, they started off with Maniet.
