Jan. 2, 2025
A panel determined Pinellas Suncoast Fire Chief Jeffrey Davidson lacked support from firefighters, but did not discriminate or misappropriate funds.

Pinellas Suncoast Fire and Rescue Chief Jeffrey Davidson has resigned even after being cleared of several allegations of misconduct.

The initial complaint was from the local firefighters' union in August, WFLA reported.

Following a probe, Davidson was cleared of eight allegations including violation of patient privacy, misappropriation of funds, discrimination and hostile work environment.

Investigators determined he had lost the confidence of firefighters.

The fire board will meet to discuss the resignation and replacement.
