Tremonton, UT, Fire Chief, Judge Charged with Child Sex Abuse

Some of the victims may not have been old enough to understand they were being abused, Tremonton Mayor Lyle Holmgren said.

A Utah community is trying to come to grips with the arrests of the fire chief and a judge.

Tremonton Fire Chief Ned Hansen and Judge Kevin Christensen remain incarcerated after the were charged with child sex abuse, Fox13 reported.

Police determined duting their probe that the men spoke about fantasies of abusing children as well as shared child pornography.

"Those victims, some of them may not even be old enough to even understand they’ve been victimized, and that’s what's horrible about all this. This is what makes this so despicable," Mayor Lyle Holmgren told reporters. 

The mayor said Hansen was vetted by police before being hired as the department's chief in 2023. 

He has appointed two fire officers to be interim chiefs.
