LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The rookie Los Angeles firefighter who was crushed by her own fire engine was not killed because of human error or mechanical problems. That's the finding of a preliminary report into the death of 25-year-old Jaime Foster.
The Fire Department report says Foster either fell or jumped off the truck and was pinned under the wheel on August 14th.
Investigators say the incident was most likely an unavoidable accident.
Foster, who had been with the department for three months, had helped douse a house fire in the San Fernando Valley. Her truck was leaving the neighborhood when it backed over her.
