MO Chief Stuck and Killed at Accident Scene

Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Bryant Gladney was struck at an accident scene and died a short time later in a local hospital.

A Boone County assistant fire chief died after being struck while in his vehicle during operations at a vehicle crash on Interstate 70 early Wednesday morning.

Boone County Fire Protection District firefighters were working a vehicle accident involving a semi-truck on Interstate 70 east of Columbia when another semi slammed into the chief's vehicle, propelling it into a University Ambulance, according to a Facebook post by Boone County Fire Protection District.

Bryant Gladney was extricated and transported to University hospital where he died a short time later.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
