Thomasville, MO, Firefighter Killed when Pumper Rolls Over

The Thomasville firefighter killed was a passenger in the rig that rolled over while responding to a fire call.

A Thomasville firefighter was killed in a crash while responding to a fire call Thursday night.

When the pumper ran off the right side of the road, the driver overcorrected attempting to regain control. The rig then crossed both lanes and careened off the left side, struck a ditch and overturned.

The 72-year-old passenger -- who has not been identified -- was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver, 66, was transported to a hospital in Memphis for treatment of serious injuries, according to Ozarks First.
