An Elkhart fire captain injured during a training operation last October died of complications from surgery.
Capt. Adam 'Pugsley' Kuspa, 41, was involved in training at a theater that was being razed when he suffered a knee injury stepping out of a ladder bucket, the USFA reported.
He had surgery in December and was participating in physical therapy. On Jan. 6, a blood clot broke loose in his leg, causing a pulmonary embolism.
Kuspa had been with the department for 19 years.
