Fontana, CA, Feb. 20, 2005 -- San Bernardino County firefighters responded to an automotive repair shop for smoke showing. Upon arrival, they found the building fully involved and requested a second alarm, soon followed by a third alarm. Eighty-five firefighters responded from San Bernardino County, Ontario, Rancho and Rialto, along with AMR medics. It took firefighters about two hours to control the fire, which caused $1.5 million in damage. Seven cars and 1,700 tires were destroyed. A police officer was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No firefighters were injured.
