Pedestal Buildings
Intermediate -- Jeff Hugo, CBO
Pedestal buildings are quite popular, as they allow the architect, city planner and the authority having jurisdiction safe, functional structures that can contain multiple purposes and mix types of construction utilizing less expensive building materials. The building codes have criteria for horizontal building separation, or more commonly referred to as a pedestal or platform structure. This program will cover how this relates to the fire sprinkler contractor and what fire sprinkler standard applies to the portions of the building structure.
