The MAFFC conference will begin on May 22, 2010 at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Center, Marietta, Georgia, and continue through to May 23, 2010.
With just a few months before the opening of the Metro Atlanta Fire Fighter Conference (MAFFC), final preparations are being made to receive the fire, health and safety professionals at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Center.
MAFFC’s goal is to be the leading exhibition and conference for fire, health & safety professionals and is expected to be well attended by those wanting to share experiences, learn new techniques and see new technologies and equipment in one place at one time.
May 22nd and 23rd – Classroom Sessions
The conference will be offering over 50 classes that will provide the knowledge needed for today’s progressive and professional fire fighters. Cutting edge techniques and information will be shared to strengthen and improve the mental slides used by today’s frontline fire fighters to safely mitigate the myriad of emergencies that are currently presenting themselves.
All of the Classroom sessions are free of charge to Firefighters and EMS professionals.
These classes cover everything from tactical considerations to the highly valued lessons learned from the devastating southeast floods of 2009. "It’s impossible to receive this very valuable information anywhere else. These are classes that provide pertinent information about the territory you respond in everyday that every fire fighter needs to be safe and effective", said Fire Lt. Tom Hancock.
The MAFFC conference classroom sessions will focus on ensuring that each participant walks away with a new knowledge about the job they are expected to perform every day. To ensure that each participant benefits, class sizes have been limited. The classes will be filled on a first register first serve basis so fire fighters are encouraged to visit the MAFFC website and register today. You can find the registration page at http://maffc.org/registration.
May 22nd and 23rd – Fireground Practical Training and Workshops
Fireground Practical Training sessions, which offer training to firefighters in real life situations and run by many of the leading experienced fire trainers, will be using a variety of venues.
The Fireground training and workshops offer in-depth knowledge and analysis to situations, with case studies and more informative and constructive dialogue. A small registration fee of $25 per student is required for each Fireground class to cover the expenses related to hosting the Fireground class.
The over 10 different Fireground opportunities include such classes as HazMat response, Truck Operations and the Portable Fire Fighter Maze. The Maze is designed to take you to your limits, while showing you that you can escape some very tight situations while in Full Turn-Out and utilizing SCBA. "Without a doubt the Portable Firefighter Maze was some of the best training I have ever had. I learned alot about myself and my abilities to survive if I were to become entrapped in a collapse. I would highly recommend it." said Fire Lt. Chris Smith.
