Sept. 10, 2012
Firefighters from around Millers Creek, in rural Wilkes County, had the rare oppurtunity to train with an acquired structure for in Millers Creek recently.
Firefighters from Boomer, Champion, Cricket and Wilkesboro sharpened their skills in rural water supply, incident command, interior firefighting and roof ventilation techniques before burning the house down. In the weeks before the full burn, firefighters conducted training on search and rescue and forcible entry.
The house was being demolished to make room for a new home.
