Fire engulfed a historic building under construction in Boston's Theater District late Monday night.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire on all three floors of the building that was under construction. They called for additonal manpower which eventually resulted in a four-alarm fire.
At one point flames were shooting about 30 feet out of the front of the building, WCVB reported.
Crews attacked the blaze from all directions. In addition to establishing aerial operations, they also used an adjacent parking garage to hit the fire.
Firefighters were eventually ordered out of the building as conditions worsened.
The cause of the fire is pending a probe.
