Dec. 18--Six people were seriously injured in a three-car crash in an unincorporated area of Glenview this afternoon, officials said.
Ambulances transported six people, including a young child, from the crash scene in a residential neighborhood in the 2900 block of Glenview Road, Glenview Deputy Fire Chief Ralph Ensign said.
Dispatchers received the first reports of the crash around 1 p.m. Ensign did not know the circumstances that led to the collision, which ended with an SUV perched upside-down atop one of the two other cars involved in the wreck.
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting tools to free the passengers in two of the vehicles, Ensign said.
Cook County sheriff's police are handling the crash investigation.
