Illinois firefighters survived flames erupting through an outside window while battling a house fire recently.
The Decatur Fire Department posted a video taken by a resident of the Dec. 28 close call for the crew. In it, firefighters including one on a ladder are outside, near one of the windows, as they're fighting the home blaze. Thick smoke then begins to pour out, and suddenly, flames shoot through the window.

Fortunately, firefighters were not hurt in the fire, the Decatur Herald & Review reports. A 67-year-old woman died in the blaze, however.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the fire department is asking the public's help, according to the newspaper.
