Las Vegas and Clark County crews faced intense heat and strong winds while battling a fast-moving two-alarm fire Tuesday.
The blaze broke out just before 2 p.m. at Lantana Apartments, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. When firefighters reached the scene, flames had engulfed the entire second floor of one of the two-story buildings at the complex.
Crews worked quickly to keep the fire contained to the building where it originated. It took 75 Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters nearly an hour to control the blaze.
No one was hurt, and 19 residents—14 adults and five children—were displaced by the blaze. The fire heavily burned one of the complex's buildings, and overall, the fire caused about $500,000 in damage.
