Nine people were injured—including three boys and two Baltimore police officers—in a house fire early Sunday. Initially, firefighters were sent to the wrong address by 9-1-1 dispatchers.
The blaze broke out at around 1 a.m. in Northeast Baltimore, the Baltimore Sun reports. Two police officers were taken to the hospital, then later released, after helping residents escape the burning house.
Four other adults and three boys—ages 2, 5 and 9—also were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The injured mostly suffered smoke inhalation, according to the Sun.
The Baltimore City Fire Department is investigating why dispatchers sent crews to the wrong address.
"That's something we're looking into," department spokesman Roman Clark told the Sun.
