Pittsburgh Firefighter Injures Back During Vehicle, House Blaze

A Pittsburgh firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital after battling a blaze that started in a vehicle and spread to a duplex in the city's Perry North neighborhood, displacing a family.

A Pittsburgh family was displaced and a firefighter was injured in connection with a fire in the city’s Perry North neighborhood.
Authorities said fire from a vehicle spread to a house near the intersection of Ivory Avenue and Peachtree Way around 2:20 p.m. Monday.
A family living in a duplex was able to escape with no injuries. However, a firefighter was transported to a hospital with a back injury.
Authorities said the American Red Cross is assisting the family, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
