An elderly man was rescued from a burning house by Georgia firefighters early Tuesday.
Roswell crews responded to a two-story house fire at around 1 a.m., according to the department. Four people had been inside the house at the time of the fire, but they were able to escape the burning structure.
A fifth person was still trapped in the basement when firefighters arrived at the scene. Crews were able to pull the occupant from the house, and they were able to save a dog, as well.
The rescued occupant—an elderly man—was taken to the hospital, and his condition was not released, WGCL-TV reports. The four people who were able to get out of the house on their own suffered smoke inhalation, with one of the occupants being taken to the hospital.
Eventually, crews were able to get the blaze under control. No firefighters were injured during the blaze.
