Two OH Firefighters, Resident Injured in House Blaze

A passerby with a ladder on his vehicle rescued four people from the second floor of the burning home, and raw video shows Canton firefighters working to extinguish the flames.

CANTON, OHOne person and two firefighters were taken to the hospital and two dogs died after a house fire Wednesday morning.

Canton firefighters responded to a call at 8:07 a.m. and found a home at 915 Smith Ave. SW engulfed in flames.

Six adults were in the house sleeping. Four people on the second floor were rescued by a passerby who had a ladder on his vehicle, the fire department said in a news release.

Two others were in the basement.

The fire is under investigation.

One of the firefighters has been released. Further details, including the conditions of the resident and other firefighter, were not immediately available.

The Fire Department released a dramatic video showing the house burning, along with a woman being reunited with a rescued cat.
