Anthony Louie, a Seminole police officer, suffered serious burns to his face, head and arms when he braved a fire at his own home to rescue both his children—14 and 7—who were uninjured.

An Oklahoma police officer was seriously burned after he rushed into his burning house to save his children last week.

While on duty with the Seminole Police Department, Anthony Louie received a call involving a residential fire, USA Today reports. The address happened to be Louie's house, and once at the scene, he braved flames that engulfed the front porch to rescue his children.

Louie was able to save both his children14 and 7—who were uninjured. The police officer suffered burns to his face, head and arms, as well as smoke inhalation in the rescue.

“If he had to do it all over again, he would," Louie's wife, Lureena, told USA Today. "That’s what he told the kids. I’d do it for my kids. I’d do it for anybody.’”

The Seminole Fraternal Order of Police has been raising money for Louie and his family. Information about how to donate can be found on the group's Facebook page.

“If it weren’t for (the Seminole Fraternal Order of Police), I probably couldn’t have gone through this,” Lureena told the Washington Post. “They’ve been by my side the whole way.”

Louie could be released from the hospital Tuesday, which would be two days before his 34th birthday.
