At least 50 St. Louis firefighters worked to extinguish a blaze that broke out at an unoccupied two-story warehouse and collapsed three parts of the brick building.

ST. LOUIS—Portions of a burning two-story brick warehouse collapsed onto Martin Luther King Drive early Thursday, authorities said.

No firefighters were hurt when part of the structure collapsed near Marcus Avenue.

Firefighters fought the blaze at the unoccupied warehouse from the outside. About 50 firefighters were at the scene shortly after 1 a.m., fire Capt. Garon Mosby said on Twitter.

He said there were heavy flames when the first fire crew arrived and that there were three portions of the building that collapsed.
