Staffers at the Harris County facility safely evacuated all of the residents except a woman in a wheelchair, who was saved by Cy-Fair firefighters.

Texas firefighters rescued a female resident in a wheelchair from a fire that broke out at an assisted living center Tuesday.

Cy-Fair Fire Department crews responded at about 7:30 a.m. to a call at the Autumn Grove Cottage Assisted Living facility in northwest Harris County, KTRK-TV reports. When firefighters reached the scene, two of the facility's staffers had safely evacuated eight residents.

The final resident in the facility was in a wheelchair, and firefighters were able to get her out of the burning structure. The woman suffered from smoke inhalation, and she was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, along with the two facility staffers.

No firefighters were injured during the call. Officials say the facility's sprinklers helped keep the fire contained until crews arrived, according to KTRK.
