OH Firefighters Make Second-Story Rescue During House Fire

A man was taken to the hospital after Columbus firefighters used an aerial to save the resident who was trapped on the home's second floor when it caught fire.

Ohio firefighters rescued a man from the second floor of a burning house early Friday.

Three people were inside a home on the south side of Columbus when it caught fire shortly before 2 a.m., WBNS-TV reports. Two of the people were able to safely escape the flames before fire crews arrived at the scene.

A third person was trapped on the second floor, and firefighters needed to use an aerial to save the man. He then was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries, WSYX-TV reports.

Firefighters also saved a dog that was found in the basement. The fire caused significant damage to the house's second floor, and the cause is under investigation.
